March 16th in Wiscosin

Some people get spring flowers and rain this late in March.........and some people get 3-4" MORE of snow and single digit temps.  Turns out that it's our turn for the snow and cold this year, and I'm less than enthusiastic about it.  I'm supposed to have lambs any day now, and this is not lamb-friendly weather.  Yesterday found me in front of a sewing machine whipping up lamb coats, because it sure looks like we'll need them this year.  I used my cats for guinea pigs models for fitting the coats, and they were less than amused by the honor.   I'll get pictures of my homemade lamb coats when I have actual lambs to model them.

Here is what it looks like outside today

Just outside the office door at about 11 am this morning at work.

My boss's house, our cars with a couple inches of snow and the wood eagle sculpture looking as unhappy about the snow and the rest of us.

  1. It's almost 40 degrees here in the UP, but we're expecting up to 20 inches of snow between tonight and Wednesday. Oh Joy! I'm really tired of winter. That's a handsome looking barn, by the way.

  2. I love that barn......too bad it's not mine, it belongs to my boss and he fixed up the bottom portion and made it his garage/workshop for his old cars and trucks, and the hay mow is storage. I would just about cut off an arm to have a barn like that at my house.

    1. Thank goodness there weren't any lambs last night, it was 30 mph winds and wind chills of 10 below. I locked everyone in the shed last night, I wasn't taking any chances.

  4. I know you are probably sick of it, but your snow is so beautiful. Hope the babies will be ok. But I'm sure you will take good care of them. Can't wait to see them in their little lamb coats.

    1. As anxious as I am for lambs to get here, I certainly hope they wait for a bit yet. We need some warmer weather. ack.

  5. Have you tried sweater sleeves? Mine are not due till mid April but I am worried about the weather too...I'd love to see the coats. Did you work from a pattern? Do you think small dog coats would work?

  6. I've given the sweater sleeves some thought, but my SIL gave me a bunch of fleece, so I am utilizing it for the lamb coats.
I didn't have a pattern, just a vague idea of what I wanted and used my cats as size models. (they were quite pissy about the fitting process)
I will have pictures as soon as I get a lamb on the ground, they just don't look like much without a body to model them.

He who angers you, controls you.

And my favorite.......You can't control what others say or do, but you can control your reaction.
